The Beatles Story
The Beatles Story at the Albert Dock is the world’s largest permanent exhibition devoted to the lives and times of The Beatles, guiding you through the music, culture and story of the band that changed the world.
Join The Beatles on their journey through immersive recreations of key locations from the band’s career including The Casbah Club, The Cavern Club, and Abbey Road Studios, alongside information, imagery, memorabilia and video interviews with Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and Yoko Ono.
The Beatles Story also has a second site at the Pier Head (located in Merseytravel’s Ferry Terminal Building), featuring the current special exhibition, ‘The British Invasion: How 1960s beat groups conquered America’, presented by The Beatles Story and The GRAMMY Museum, houses previously unseen photographs and memorabilia.
The Beatles Hidden Gallery displays 38 never before seen photographs of The Beatles after being hidden away for over 45 years. The Fab 4D is a cinematic experience that the whole family will enjoy, featuring a whole host of magical characters who bring The Beatles’ music to life in glorious 4D.
Tate Liverpool
Also located at the Albert Dock, Tate Liverpool is the home of the National Collection of Modern Art in the north. The gallery stages a changing programme of special exhibitions throughout the year, bringing together artworks from all over the world. In recent years artists featured have included Gustav Klimt, Pablo Picasso, René Magritte and Claude Monet.
The gallery also offers large displays of work from the National Collection free of charge. The Collection features the work of artists including Francis Bacon, Marcel Duchamp, Barbara Hepworth, Henry Moore and Andy Warhol.
Visitors can also attend special events, entertain the family with children’s activities or simply enjoy the magnificent views across the Albert Dock from the onsite café. If you’re looking for a souvenir or a special gift, call into the Tate Shop for a wide range of postcards, prints and books.

Museum of Liverpool
The Museum of Liverpool is the world’s first national museum devoted to the history of a regional city and the largest newly-built national museum in Britain for more than a century, with free entry all year round.
Hop on board the overhead railway, get up close to the stage where John Lennon and Paul McCartney first met, immerse yourself in the city’s rich sporting and creative history and experience for yourself what it means to be Liverpudlian. Don’t miss the 360º immersive films about Liverpool and Everton FC and The Beatles!
Exhibits showcase popular culture and tackle social, historical and contemporary issues in an accessible, engaging manner. More than 6,000 objects bring Liverpool’s incredible heritage to life, celebrating thousands of years of the city’s achievements. Exhibits include Ben Johnson’s Liverpool Cityscape, a life-sized Liver bird, the first Ford Anglia from Ford’s Halewood production line and Chris Boardman’s famous Lotus sport bike.
The café on the ground floor serves delicious traditional British food with a contemporary twist. Here, you can relax and enjoy excellent views of the canal and Albert Dock.

Anglican Cathedral
Britain’s biggest Cathedral, this spectacular building is free to enter (though tickets must be bought for the popular tower and audio tour). Setting foot inside Liverpool Cathedral you truly enter a great space. Sir John Betjeman called it ‘one of the great buildings of the world.’
The tower is open every day and weekly Thursday twilight tours take place in season. ‘The Great Space’ film and audio tour is an interactive tour that takes visitors on a journey of discovery visiting a series of ‘stations’ and is now available in 7 languages, as well as a BSL tour on portable DVD for deaf visitors.
The Cathedral comes highly recommended for architecture, tower views, the award-wining shop, regular programme of events and of course the great restaurant and café!
Liverpool ONE
Liverpool ONE offers a multitude of high profile stores with more than 160 famous high street shops, ultra-hip fashion brands, cool independent boutiques, cafés and restaurants in the heart of the city centre.
When you have explored Liverpool ONE, take time out to visit the Leisure Terrace overlooking Chavasse Park. The restaurants and cafés up there will offer the perfect counterpoint to a hard day’s shopping.
