Specialist operator, ‘Airport by Coach’, has started a new coach service between Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) and Liverpool and Manchester City Centres.
The service operates hourly throughout the day and night, seven days a week, giving passengers from throughout the North West the opportunity for the first time, to use public transport when departing on flights from the Airport either first thing in the morning or when returning back to the Airport last thing at night.
Airport by Coach’ operate modern, fast, comfortable, air-conditioned, stylish coaches with reclining seats, toilet and wi-fi. In addition to operating to Manchester and Liverpool, the service also calls at both Widnes and Warrington town centres as well as Manchester Airport.
Prices to Manchester start at £9.50 return with a journey time of 85 minutes, fares to Warrington start at £7.60 return with a 35 minute journey time and fares to Widnes start at £4.80 return and the journey takes just 12 minutes.
Andrew Dutton, Head of Environment for LJLA owners, the Peel Airports Group commented, “The Airport spends a lot of time promoting the use of public transport, but until now many passengers had to travel by car or taxi because public transport services do not operate at times when many need to travel to the Airport. This new coach service helps to tackle this problem and passengers from throughout the region now have a real alternative.
Likewise for visitors flying in to visit the region, there’s no danger that they’ll miss the last public transport departure of the night – this hourly service brings much greater flexibility.
This service provides another important public transport link to LJLA, which already has the highest levels of public transport usage for an airport of its size” continued Andrew.
Graham Hayden, ‘Airport by Coach’ Managing Director added: "We’re delighted to be working in partnership with Liverpool John Lennon Airport on this new service and are extremely confident it will meet the demand for passengers travelling from areas such as Greater Manchester, Warrington and Liverpool.
Passengers will enjoy high quality coaches that will serve the route; equipped with free Wi-Fi access, air conditioning, reclining seats, generous legroom, toilet facilities and spacious luggage hold. Passengers can also take advantage of an outstanding integrated travel option, with our revolutionary taxi add-on service, connecting them to the nearest coach stop, direct from their front door or use our bus link where passengers can use the massive Arriva bus network to join the coach”.
