LJLA invited to exhibit UK’s first floating aircraft simulator

Liverpool John Lennon Airport’s Rescue and Fire Fighting Service has been invited to participate in The Emergency Services Show 2010 later this month following the recent successful full emergency exercise it staged on the River Mersey, which used the UK’s first floating aircraft simulator.

The Emergency Services Show 2010 is held on 24th-25th November in Coventry and Show organisers are keen for the Airport to showcase its new floating aircraft simulator that was purpose built for the Airport so it could test procedures for dealing with an aircraft making a forced landing on water.

The Show, now in its fifth year, is the only event for all involved in Emergency Planning, Response and Recovery and continues to attract all involved in an emergency – from strategic planners to first responders and support organisations. Interest in LJLA’s simulator is expected to be high due to the unique training opportunities it gives those emergency services who may be involved in similar real life situations.
