Following the success of last year’s festive fun initiative at Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA), the airport is on the look out once again for local schools and other groups who might want to help celebrate the Christmas season with the thousands of passengers passing through over the coming weeks as part of a community initiative, involving fundraising collections by the groups involved.
Ideas being put to schools throughout the area include an invitation to dress some of the window space at the front of the terminal building with a festive display of their choice. The Airport will be rewarding the school with the best design with a VIP ‘behind the scenes tour’ of the airport for the pupils, their parents and their teacher.
The Airport is also inviting schools and community groups to use the space on the terminal concourse to perform Christmas carols and other songs for passengers passing through the Airport before they catch flights at the same time as being able to raise funds through collection boxes.

Christina Smith, LJLA’s Customer Services Co-ordinator commented, “We ran a similar scheme last year which was such a success and so well received by our passengers that we decided to try to repeat this festive fun again.
The Airport works closely with schools hosting many education based visits throughout the year, but this helps local schools showcase the skills of their pupils to passengers from far and wide, at this festive time.”
