Ryanair have announced that they will be adding two new destinations to their network of routes from Liverpool John Lennon Airport for their Summer schedules, operating services to Barcelona and Almeria in Spain.

Flights commence on 25th March 2012 at the start of the Summer season. Seats go on sale today with fares starting from just £29.99 one way, taking the total number of destinations served by Ryanair to 40 from what continues to be their second largest UK base.

This is the first time that these destinations have been served by Ryanair. Barcelona is expected to be a popular route for Ryanair passengers looking for a city break destination that combines great year round sightseeing with the added Summer season benefit of a Mediterranean coastal resort.

The coastal resort of Almeria and its surrounding areas in Andalucía, Southern Spain is also a popular holiday area. The city itself holds a great deal of charm and is steeped in history and has one of the sunniest, warmest and driest climates in Europe.

Robin Tudor, Head of PR for Peel Airports commented, "These are two great new destinations that will further complement Ryanair’s comprehensive list of routes from Liverpool. This remains their second largest UK base, with 40 destinations available from here and we expect these two new routes to prove popular with passengers across the region."

Ryanair’s Maria Macken said, "Our new routes from Liverpool will start from 25 March and operate throughout the summer giving passengers in the North West even more choice when booking their summer getaway.

"To celebrate these two new routes from Liverpool, Ryanair is releasing 1million seats on sale from just £9.99 for travel across Europe in mid Feb and March. Since these seats will be snapped up fast we urge intending passengers to book them immediately on www.ryanair.com."
