Results published by the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) show that airlines operating at Liverpool John Lennon Airport (JLA) are some of the most punctual in the UK.
Data from the CAA released today shows that during April to June 2012, the overall on-time performance (defined as the proportion of flights arriving or departing early or up to 15 minutes late) of scheduled flights at the ten UK airports monitored was 78%, a fall of four percentage points compared with the second quarter of 2011.
At JLA however, performance has improved, with some 91% of scheduled flights on time compared to last year’s figure of 88% for the same period.
When compared to elsewhere in the North West, only 77% of Manchester Airport’s scheduled flights were reported as being on time.
Paul Staples, Airport Director for JLA commented, "The hard work improving operations in recent years by both ourselves and the handling agents servicing the airlines that operate at Liverpool is really paying dividends now.
When choosing where to fly from, passengers across the region now have the confidence of knowing that more flights operate on time here than at many of our competitors."
