Some say romance is dead, well not at Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) this coming weekend as couples from across the region jet away for romantic weekend breaks to a range of destinations across Europe.

With Valentine’s Day falling on a Friday this year, airlines such as easyJet have already noticed a 9% increase in the number of couples departing from Liverpool this Valentine’s day compared to last year. No surprise however that one of the airline’s most popular destinations for couples is proving to be the romantic city of Paris, along with Amsterdam and to the warmer climates expected in Nice, Palma and Malaga.

For those looking to make a last minute impression on their loved one though, there are some great deals still to be had on flights closer to home with Ryanair to Ireland with a choice of departures to Dublin, Cork and Shannon as well as to great value destinations in Spain too.

To help put passengers in a more romantic mood, in addition to the relaxed, hassle free environment at LJLA, the Airport will once again be organising one of its Funday Friday events. Activities will include a local DJ on hand to play a selection of famous love songs, retailers will have various Valentine’s Day themed promotions for passengers and there will even be the chance for one lucky couple to win return flights to Gran Canaria from Liverpool, courtesy of Ryanair.
