A new business has been set up in offices at Liverpool John Lennon Airport by three young local entrepreneurs aimed at making life easier for companies and individuals looking to receive the best value for money when it comes to sending parcels.
Cousins Tom and Mark Hughes and colleague Andy Sharp recently launched The Parcel Centre, which is an online freight forwarder but with the added benefit that it operates like a price comparison website to give customers the best deal available.
Tom, Mark and Andy, who all come from the Liverpool area, saw a gap in the market to offer customers the ability to send a parcel anywhere in the world, choose the best delivery price from a comparison of all the top courier companies and organize collection and payment – all via the one website, www.theparcelcentre.co.uk
Tom’s father David has helped to bring the business to fruition, using his knowledge and 30 year’s of experience across all areas of freight handling, working with his son who has been developing the website for some time. The business is already proving successful and if it continues to grow in line with expectations, the Company hopes to expand into larger premises at the Airport.
An important part of their business is to put something back into the community too and The Parcel Centre are already a sponsor of The Widnes Vikings Rugby League team and also work with local schools. As they grow and expand, creating more local employment is a key part of their strategy.
Andy commented, ”We are all passionate about this business. It has taken lots of careful planning to start our venture, but we all really believe we have a great business model that will give our customers the best service in the ever expanding parcel delivery logistics industry. We are only a small team at present but if all goes according to plan it won’t be long before we expand and create more jobs here at the Airport for the local community.”
