Blue Air to add second Romanian destination direct from LJLA

Romanian airline Blue Air has announced a further new route to operate from Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA), with flights to the city of Bacau in North East Romania to commence in March 2015.

This latest news comes just three months after Blue Air announced their inaugural three times weekly service to the Romanian capital Bucharest, which starts in December 2014.

Situated in the historical region of Moldavia, at the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains, Bacau is one of Romania’s cultural centres with a state theatre, museums and a symphony orchestra. Attractions include the famous churches of northern Moldavia with their colourful paintings, which have been listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

Seen as one of the most beautiful regions in Romania, where visitors can enjoy hills, meadows and forests, Blue Air now gives travellers the opportunity to discover the unique regional history, traditions and spirit of Romania by visiting Bucharest or Bacau.

Flights to Bacau will commence at the start of Blue Air’s summer schedule on 29th March 2015, operating twice weekly with departures at 00:40 on Wednesday and Sunday mornings. Fares will start from just 42.90 Euros (approx £34.25), one way (including taxes and charges) with the airline operating a 162 seat Boeing 737-400 on this route also.

Today’s announcement follows September’s visit to Liverpool by senior airline representatives who attended a reception in the City, meeting with various businesses and stakeholders from across the City Region.
