Passengers wanting to enjoy a holiday in Cornwall this year will soon be able to access the South West far easier, following today’s announcement by Flybe that they will commence a weekly flight from Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) to Cornwall Airport Newquay in May.
The weekly flights depart from Liverpool at 18:30 each Saturday from 21st May through to 24th September 2016. With travel times to the South West Coast normally in excess of 5 hours by car and even longer by train, the 75 minute flight time gives passengers from across the North West the opportunity to travel to one of the UK’s top holiday destinations in a fraction of the time.
This time last year, Flybe only operated services to the Isle of Man from Liverpool, however this latest commitment to their operations from LJLA will be Flybe’s fifth route, complementing the airline’s other services to the Isle of Man, Belfast City, Edinburgh and Amsterdam with onward worldwide connections at Schiphol Airport.
Today’s addition to their Liverpool programme further enhances Flybe’s summer offerings to and from Liverpool and takes their total number of flights at LJLA to approximately 180 per week.
Tickets are available for booking now at www.flybe.com with one way fares from £29.99 including taxes and charges.
Robin Tudor, Head of PR for Liverpool John Lennon Airport commented, “Cornwall is a beautiful part of the country but notoriously difficult to get to at the best of times, taking at least 5 hours by car and even longer by train from Liverpool.
Flybe’s flight to Cornwall Airport Newquay will mean the region’s holidaymakers can be there in just over an hour saving all the hassle and able to spend more time to enjoy this popular holiday region.”
