King’s Day
27th April
27th April marks the king’s birthday and it’s a day that most definitely comes to life in the Netherlands. Considered as being one of the biggest festivities in the Dutch calendar, parties are held all over the country, especially in Amsterdam. The famous skinny streets turn completely orange and the whole city joins in the celebration.
Park Am See
21st May
For those looking for a party, Amsterdam has one of the world’s leading underground music scenes, so visiting an electronic music event on your trip is a must. Park Am See is a music festival like no other – having been curated by Berlin-based club Watergate, Deep House Amsterdam magazine and event group Chasing the Hihat, it’s set to be a night to remember.
Taste of Amsterdam
2-4th June
If food is your thing, then the Taste of Amsterdam is not to be missed. Amstelpark hosts an array of culinary activities from wine tasting to a live cook-off, as well as a number of Amsterdam’s leading chefs dishing out samples of their signature plates. This event can only be described as a haven for food lovers and with tickets costing €12, there’s no excuse not to visit.
Anne
10th April – 26th June
ANNE is the theatrical production which reflects on the iconic ‘Diary of Anne Frank’, telling the life story of a young Jewish girl and her family during WWII. This performance is the first of its kind based on all the versions of her diary and although it is conducted in Dutch, a multilingual translation system can be booked for free.
