Alternatively, with all this shopping to be done, you may wish to stock up and take advantage of World Duty Free's Shop and Collect service, allowing you to make purchases and then collect them when you return back to Liverpool. Shop and Collect is available to customers flying within the UK and EU only. Ask in store for details.
Duty Free and Tax Free
Some products in World Duty Free are only available to passengers travelling to destinations outside the European Union (EU). These are exempt from excise duty (and tax) and distinguishable in store by green labels.
Customs Allowances
There may be a limit on the quantity of some items you’re allowed to take into your destination country, and a similar limit on the amount you can then bring back into the UK. The rules are different for EU and non-EU destinations.
Travelling to the UK or within the EU
As a general rule, if you’re travelling from Liverpool John Lennon Airport to a destination in the UK or within the EU, you’re entitled to buy as much fragrance, skincare, cosmetics, champagne, wine, selected spirits, fashion accessories, gifts and souvenirs as you want, all at tax-free equivalent prices. Some countries have no limit on the amount of tobacco and alcohol you can bring in, but these should be for your own personal consumption and there may be guidelines in place to determine and monitor this. More information on these guidelines is available at worlddutyfree.com
Travelling outside the EU
There will usually be restrictions on how much you can take into your destination country and, if you're returning to Liverpool, how much you can bring from your destination back into the UK.
You can find more information on customs allowances at worlddutyfree.com or gov.uk.
