On the Radar: Paris

Paris is always a good idea - particularly at Christmas when the City of Lights twinkles with seasonal joy.

Famous for its gourmet food, chic shopping and breathtakingly beautiful architecture, Paris in the winter offers even more for visitors than at any other time of year. We've gathered together some of our favourite things to do and sights to see for a handy guide to Paris this Christmas.

Christmas Lights

The Champs Élysées, Avenue Montaigne and Bercy Village are just a few of the places you can stroll through in the evenings to enjoy Christmas lights and soak up the festive feeling. Lights adorn the city throughout the Christmas period and create an ideal environment to discover Paris.

Ice Skating

Gliding across the ice, wrapped up in lots of cosy layers is one of the best ways to enjoy winter - add in the world's most beautiful city and you'll have an Instagram worthy afternoon! There are a few ice skating rinks across Paris at Christmas but our favourite is Patinoire de L'Hotel de Ville outside the city hall.

Patisseries

No other city in the world makes sweet treats like Paris! Although you'll be spoilt for choice with Patisseries on every corner, we recommend the iconic Ladureé and Angelina's. When you pop into Angelina's be sure to sample the hot chocolate - a pudding in itself and made from pure hot chocolate this is the ultimate indulgent treat!

Christmas Markets

There are Christmas Markets in Paris throughout November and December - including one in Disneyland from November 11th! If you're planning on taking your family for some Christmas cheer we recommend the Christmas market and Santa’s Village at Saint-Germain-Des-Prés.
