Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) has a new product on its shelves for passengers to take advantage of as they head off on their travels, following the recent arrival of Penderyn Single Malt Welsh Whisky to the World Duty Free shop in the Airport Departure Lounge.

The Airport is always on the look out to showcase some great local products and during a ‘behind the scenes’ visit to the Airport organised last year by West Cheshire and North Wales Chamber of Commerce for its members, Penderyn Distillery’s Marketing Manager Caroline Roberts enquired during the visit about selling their amazing range of award-winning Welsh whiskies at the Airport.

The Airport suggested to Dufry who operate the Airport’s Duty Free retail area that extending their business with Penderyn’s brands to Liverpool Airport would be a great step and now just in time for the busy summer season, Penderyn Distillery have a range of their whiskies on sale at Liverpool Airport, all at great prices.

Most recently they also welcomed Penderyn’s Brand Ambassador, Richard Edwards to the Airport, where he worked closely with the store around the recent Eurovision event, to bring special instore tastings and offers to travelers flying out of Liverpool too.

With Penderyn’s second distillery situated in Llandudno, North Wales, the close proximity to the Airport is what makes the relationship work really well, as travelers from Wales or heading to Wales can visit Penderyn Distillery Llandudno, to see the unique process Penderyn uses to produce their single malt Welsh whiskies.

Robin Tudor, Head of PR for Liverpool John Lennon Airport commented, “It’s great when a business networking event organised by the Chamber to help fellow members do business together creates an opportunity such as this and we go on to showcase a great local product like Penderyn Whisky to our passengers, many of whom come from North Wales.”

Penderyn Distillery’s Marketing Manager Caroline Roberts added, “With Liverpool John Lennon Airport being so close to our distillery in North Wales it’s been fantastic to see our relationship grow and develop to where it is today. What started as two individual members of the West Cheshire and North Wales Chamber of Commerce has evolved into a great working relationship between us both. It’s fantastic to see our products on the shelves at the Airport and we look forward to welcoming more of the team to our distillery in Llandudno.”
