Bicycle Lockers
Secure cycle lockers are located directly opposite the terminal building, on the right hand side of the hotel and multi-storey car park. These are made available for airport passengers only.
If you wish to use a locker, go to the Car Park Office located at the Meet & Greet car park (open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week), located within the multi storey car park where you can complete the necessary form and collect a locker key.
Please note: Photo Identification is required to be given a key and in the event of its loss a £20.00 fee will be charged.
Carrying Bicycles as Baggage
Each airline has its own policy on carrying bicycles as baggage. To find out more information, contact your airline or tour operator directly.
Where permitted, bicycles are required to be checked into the hold, and packaged in a suitable box or bag. Some airlines also require the handlebars to be turned parallel, flush with the frame, and the pedals to also be flush against the frame, or removed completely. Another requirement a select few carriers have is for the wheels to be removed, or tyres deflated.
Unfortunately the Airport is unable to provide tools to prepare the bicycle for travel, including bike bags, so please ensure this is completed prior to arrival at the terminal.
Merseyside Cycle Maps
Merseyside has quite a well connected cycle network following major investments in local infrastructure and Merseyside Cycle Maps are available for anyone making shorter journeys to the airport by bike and for visitors arriving at LJLA and wanting to find their way by bike or on foot around the local area. The family of cycle maps covering the Liverpool City Region are available here on the Merseytravel website.
