As well as preparing all the usual passport, tickets and other travel documents, passengers should carefully plan their car or public transport journey before travelling to the airport, to make allowances for roadworks or unexpected traffic.
Make sure you arrive at the airport with plenty of time to spare, not only to find a parking space, but also to check-in, pass through Security and relax and enjoy the many shops and restaurants available in the Departure Lounge. Liverpool John Lennon Airport recommends passengers arrive at least 2 hours before the scheduled departure time of your flight.
All passengers are reminded that it is their responsibility to ensure they arrive at the Departure Gate at the published boarding time as stipulated by their airline. Liverpool John Lennon Airport cannot accept responsibility for passengers who do not allow sufficient time to transit through the airport to the Departure Gate.
Checking in online
Most airlines permit passengers check in for their flight online. For further information regarding checking in online please contact your airline direct. Passengers who have checked in online and have luggage with them to check in to the hold will need to attend the bag-drop desks in the Check In area. Those passengers who have checked in online and have hand baggage only should proceed straight to security.
Printing facilities are available at the airport and are located by the information desk. There is a cost for this and passengers should, where-ever possible, print their required documents before arriving at the airport as availability cannot be guaranteed.
Passengers checking in online are reminded that it is their responsibility to ensure they arrive at the Departure Gate at the published boarding time, and are advised to allow sufficient time to pass through Security.
Liverpool John Lennon Airport recommends that passengers arrive at the airport no later than 2 hours prior to departure.
Passengers checking in online will be subject to the same security and baggage rules as all other passengers.
Preparing your Hand and Hold Baggage, including Rules about Liquids
To make the journey through the airport as efficient and comfortable as possible, passengers are asked to carefully pack their luggage in accordance with the regulations set in place by the Department for Transport, and their airline's individual baggage policy.
